2009 CHEERLEADING OVERVIEW

09/21/09

There are 56 girls cheering in grades K through 7.  There are 11 girls on the Bandit squad (K-2), 14 girls on the combined 3rd/4th grade squad, 8 girls on the 5th grade squad, 9 girls on the 6th grade squad, and 14 girls on the 7th grade squad.  Each squad has worked very hard on learning the cheers and perfecting their half-time dance.

Spirit Days were September 12th & 13th for grades 3-8 and will be October 10th for the Bandits.  All of the entries for the 16th Annual Spirit Day Poster Contest did a very good job of showing examples of Panther Pride.  The judges from the opposing team had a tough time picking the winners.  1st Place went to Clare Knecht in Grade 8, 2nd Place went to Anna Hergenrother in Grade 3, and 3rd Place went to Lia Hergenrother in Grade 6.

The Mass for all the cheerleaders and football players, along with their families, will be on October 3rd followed by the 12th Annual Chili Fest and Bonfire at St. James Field.

This is my last year as the Cheerleading Coordinator.  I want to thank all the parents, coaches, and student coaches for all the time they spend in teaching the girls the cheers and routines for the games. I'm sure all the fans have enjoyed all their talent.

The new Cheerleading Coordinator next season will be Tara Teepe.  She has a daughter in 5th grade and a son in 4th grade.  Please welcome her as she starts her 2010 season.
